Description
This unit is a protective device that connects to Victron’s lithium batteries and enables the entire battery bank to be protected against over/under voltage and over temperature. It connects to the daisy-chain connectors on the batteries, and between the starter and domestic battery where an alternator is being used for charging.
The device’s purpose is to protect the Li-ion batteries in the event of under/over-voltage and over-temperature by electronically disconnecting them when the charge voltage is too high or the battery voltage becomes too low. It limits the charge power from the alternator to prevent overheating, particularly while running on lower rpm and will also prevent the Li-ion battery discharging into the starter battery to prevent excessive discharge. It also prevents the load from taking power from the starter battery.
