An excellent choice for fibreglass and wood hulls, this 8-pin 600 W narrow stem transducer has a depth of 800 to 1,200 ft; an operating frequency of 50 to 200 kHz; a beamwidth of 45 to 12 degrees; and a 0 to 7-degree deadrise. Transducer kit comes with installation instructions. Follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your boat. Do not use on metal hulls. When using with a 6-pin Garmin sounder, transducer adapter cable part number 010-11612-00 is required.

The SS505 is a compact, impact resistant, stainless steel stem for use on all hulls. The dual-frequency version provides good target detail in shallow-water at 200 kHz and good deep-water bottom tracking at 50 kHz. The narrow-beam 200 kHz version provides excellent bottom detail. Airmar’s High-Performance Fairings are recommended for all installations to obtain the best possible performance.

Airmar's Smart Sensors have embedded microelectronics—the transducer element and signal processor are only millimeters apart. The signal from the depth transducer is processed right inside the sensor itself. All that is needed to receive depth and temperature data is a single cable into a compatible network or display. The ceramic is tilted inside the housing, which compensates for hull deadrise and orients the transducer beam straight down, resulting in strong bottom echo returns and accurate depth readings. It is sold with a choice of rugged housings—plastic, bronze, or stainless steel—to accommodate any vessel type or hull material. These low-profile housings do not affect hull performance and will provide accurate readings at high speeds. The retractable housing with a self-closing valve reduces water flow into the vessel when the transducer is removed for cleaning.
